Miscellaneous Rubber Platemaking Supplies
Aerosol Release Sprays
- Econo #1 Release (11 oz can) - Manufactured
specifically for Econo to provide trouble-free molding of metal engravings and type. Serves as a treatment for press platens and drawplates to prevent the sticking of matrix resins and rubber flash.
- Frekote 700 NC (14-1/2 oz can) - Recommended for use with "soft" matrix boards and photopolymer masters. Non-silicone resin provides unique molding characteristics. Single spray application.
Release Papers
- Silicone treated paper used in the molding process to aid in removal of air and to prevent sticking during the molding process. Multiple moldings can be performed before discarding.
#25 White Release Paper in 20" or 40" width
#28 White Release Paper in 24" or 48" width
Holland Cloth
- A starch impregnated cloth used as a release medium in the molding process. Serves also as a mounting media for plate/stickyback storage. (50 yd roll 40" wide)
Poly Film - .008" thick poly film used as a medium for mounting stickybacked plates in storage (41" wide)
Platen Cleaner / Wax
- A special formulated carnuba was based product that cleans and lubricates molding press drawplates and platens. (12 oz can)
Matrix Fill-in Powder
- A bakelite powder used to "fill in" an engraving or master which has greater relief than that which is available in the matrix board. Uses include corrugated printing plates and deep relief art stamps. 80 Mesh (70 lb drum)
Cement Coated Steel (CC Steel)
- A .010" thick, special tempered steel, coated with heat activated cement. Used in the manufacturing of metal backed rubber plates. Also used as a mounting medium for corrugated printing plates and magnetic cylinders. Shipped in rolls of 24" or 36" widths, approximately 100 lbs.
Polyester Sheeting & Rolls
- Material for mounting printing plates or layout. Widths up to 60". Guages to .014". Rolls lengths up to 500 linear feet. Standard finish types are clear or hazy.
